Thank you for visiting NWSRO
North Wales Seal Research Organisation is an evidence based conservation organisation formed by a group of passionate and hard working volunteers aiming to protect and conserve seals in North Wales. We aim to do this by collecting sightings data, highlighting the threats they face on different spatial and temporal scales, understanding their movements and habitats, monitoring breeding, and overall encouraging a more responsible stewardship approach to our marine environment through education and awareness.
We are passionate about people led conservation and citizen science and believe that people should not be excluded from nature but included in a responsible manner in order to inspire current and future generations to protect our oceans. We enjoy engaging with all local stakeholders to inspire change and effectively monitor our marine species both locally and further afield. If you would like to get involved, please contact us.
You can donate to the organisation in order to help us continue this important work and you can also support us by letting us know if you spot a seal along the North Wales coast. Sightings of both healthy animals and deceased animals are important to our research and all information is very much appreciated !
